Yes, Today, I am back with one more update about Twitter. I have observed few changes in Twitter, that is “Promoted Tweets”. Many of you guys have heard this back few weeks ago but it seems that now Twitter has implemented its business concept, after all they need to earn their bread & butter too :)

Twitter Update : Other side of business

I have recently observed that, Twitter has implemented two big changes in its layout as well as functioning areas. One is, as I said, Promoted Tweets. Now, When you login to your twitter screen on  the web, on the right hand side column, under trending topics, you will notice the “PROMOTED” tag for any particular topic. Please refer the below image for more explanation.

When you click on that particular trending topic, it will take you to the promoted tweets for the same. It seems like, TWITTER is now moving towards on Google Way to earn the revenue from Advertising Module. It takes a dramatic turn while most of us were predicting that, Twitter might be a tough competitor for Google but, instead Twitter silently & slowly taking few turning step to create its own brand & start a seprate advertisng module.

In the morning, I was reading one of the online newsletter which I have subscribed to get updated with the industry news. It was basically a marketing newsletter which logically described the reason to buy a product, but the arguments have inspired me enough to think more about the topic & I thought that, it might inspire you too :)

Being in the search industry for 5+ years, I have witnessed many changes and updates  of the search industry and I have learned that, it’s very important to analyze any new services before using it. One of the such most popular service is “URL shortening services”

Before going further, lets discuss WHY people felt need of such service. With the increase in usage of micro blogging sties like TWITTER where there is limitation of 140 characters; people felt a need to some solution to shorten the URL, so that they can utilize the 140 characters at most. Not only Twitter, LinkedIn & other such Social networking sites have put this limitation on the users. Few of the market watchers caught this opportunity & introduced the URL shortening service to help the people and that too free :)

Well, I am referring to the new layout offered by Facebook. Yes, once again, Facebook comes with simplified new layout for Facebook profiles. But, unlike last updates, this look is pretty simple & user friendly I can say. Personally, I like this new layout, easy to use, categorized & simple.

Wishing all my Indian blog readers a Very Happy Republic Day :) , I hope you enjoyed & celebrated the same. Now, back to the business, I was just going through the regular tweets on my twitter account & I noticed one more update on Twitter. Twitter updated with the option to get trendy topics country specific.

If you are a regular twitter user, you might be aware about trends followed by # sign & the more it is used, it become the trendy topics of the day. Its a kind of attraction, but now it becomes more specific. You can now get country specific twitter trends.

So, as you can see in the image, you can select your country from twitter page. But still, not all the countries are listed on twitter. May be, twitter is trying the beta version of this. But still, INDIA is not into the list of countries specified, and no option to add as well, I guess, twitter has listed the country which has more number of twitter users or who tweets from regular basis.
