Innovative SEO : Learn & Share All About SEO

Hello Friends,

Its been almost a month since my last post, seems like life is runing too fast these days for me :) but, this will not keep me apart from checking industry updates & share it with all of you. Though, there is no major Search algorithm update but yes, there is some major announcement by Google.

Google Search Updates for May,2011

  • Page Load Time : New Update in Google Analytics

We have observed & heard that, Google is working hard to improve the speed of the web & page load time is again one of the important factor taken into consideration for ranking in SERP. To improve the performance of web pages, first we need to measure and diagnose the speed of a page. But things will not stop there, even with page speed measurements, it’s critical to look at page speed in context of other web analytics data. Google has implemented the new code by which we can actually check the pages speed & its contextual effects on overall site performance & ranking.
Uses for the Site Speed Report in Google Analytics

  1. Content: Which landing pages are slowest?
  2. Traffic sources: Which campaigns correspond to faster page loads overall?
  3. Visitor: How does page load time vary across geographies?
  4. Technology: Does your site load faster or slower for different browsers?

Hello Friends,

Innovative SEO : Learn & Share All About SEO

Since last few days, I have been researching on new changes done by Google in their algo to rank website in their SERP. I will share about the trends & all in my second post but this post is all about the other side of the industry which made me think about the values of a business/ an individual as SEO Professional and ethic of SEO.

Well, during my research I have come across many websites & social media pages/profiles of companies as well as individual. Some of are known to me & some are not, but what makes me think is the way website represents the company, the social media profiles of the companies / individuals and the way its ranking in search engines.

I wont get in much details of these website but would love to share few points which questioned the morality of the SEO profession.

Google & other search engines have shared thier guideline to make the website SEO friendly, but as we know people do try different methods to push their site into Search Engines (Grey hat & black hat methods) but lets talk about WHITE HAT SEO & Ethics of White hat SEO.

  1. Even in white hat methods people try to get back-links using directory submissions & Article submissions & all. Now, ideally, you should only get a back-link when someone naturally comes in & refer you (just like RT & Re-share in various social media platforms) but here very rare SEOs there who just wait for others to start giving them backlink. Objective is clear to get links so that their client’s website start getting rank in Search Engines. So, Do we follow PURE WHITE HAT HERE ? We need to think, Isn’t it ? Read the rest of this entry »
